My clipper seems to be pulling the hair instead of cutting it, does this mean I need new blades?

When the blades start pulling hair, the first thing you should try is applying two drops of lubricating oil to the blades and trying to cut again. (The oil lubricates the blades and allows them to operate at the correct speed, ensuring a better cut. It also helps the clipper run cooler.) If your clipper blades are still pulling hair, you will need to replace them or, alternatively, sharpen them.
