Can I use my pet clippers to remove matts?

Yes, it can be used for matts. Wahl recommends the use of a slicker brush to remove tangles. When encountering stubborn matts or tangles, use liquid detangler or baby oil, gently massage it into the trouble spot and brush it out. If the matt will not give, then you can uses the clippers to remove the matt. You may want to use scissors to loosen the matt so it stops pulling the skin or to remove some of the matt's bulk then use the clippers.
